Here at Cotswold Engineering Supplies we supply a comprehensive range of metric light and heavy duty DIN 2353 hydraulic compression fittings from leading suppliers corresponding to the DIN 2353 / ISO 8434-1 and 8434-4 standards.
Rated pressure has a safety factor of 4 (DIN 3859), but our precision hydraulic fittings exceed the standardised pressure rating with most types.
PERFORMANCE
Available in two series of metric coupling, L (light), S (heavy). The performance of both series are summarised in the following table which shows the values of operating pressures for each range of outer diameter for the pipes employed. It must be taken into account that the pressure values indicated are calculated considering a safety factor of 4 vs. those obtained during static operating tests at 120ºC.

TECHNICAL AND CONSTRUCTION CHARACTERISTICS
All metric couplings are manufactured in accordance with DIN 2353, with either conical (DIN3858 - DIN158 - NPT) or cylindrical (UNI ISO 228 - UNF - UNI 4535) threading.
Conical threading produces the seal by direct coupling whereas the seal for cylindrical threading is obtained by one of two methods:
Form A – Using Dowty seal or copper washer to DIN3852
Form E – a perbunan or viton ring (soft seal) to DIN3852
All components are manufactured from either drawn or pressed steel (both by the cold and hot treatment system). The units and the nuts are submitted to a corrosion-proof surface treatment.
The cutting rings are submitted both to a heat treatment which enhances their mechanical characteristics leaving almost unchanged elasticity, and to a corrosion proof surface treatment. All fittings on this site are manufactured from carbon steel.
Stainless Steel fittings are available to order, for more details call our Direct Sales Line on 01684 298786.
